In Cumbria, a shire county located in the northwestern part of England – Yanwath is one of the towns which have a rich sense of history.
Yanwath is actually a civil parish which belongs to the Eden District. Some of the historical sites in the village include the Eamont Bridge which is near the small village of Yanwath. It was in 1866 that the civil parish was created. Interestingly enough, the name Yanwath can be roughly translated to flat or level woodland.
