Welton
The place of Welton otherwise called as Welton of Lincoln is both a civil parish and a village. This place is only seven miles away from the north of Lincoln city, district of West Lindsey, and kingdom of Lincolnshire, England. Essentially, Welton is also called in its lengthier name, Welton by Lincoln, to make a clear distinction from the other two Weltons in Lincolnshire—Welton Le Marsh and Welton le Wold. This name also serves as a distinction of the land from other places in England that are also named as Welton. The Interesting History of Welton The name of Welton actually means “village with a well.” This is not only a product of imagination or a folk tale because the well still exists until these days along with its Victorian pump. In fact, this land can be considered as a historical place too because the history of human habitation here has been occupied by both the Celtics and the Romans. And this village was originally recognized as Welletone during the time of the Domesday Book. The Amenities of the Village and Its Gifts Tourist comes to Welton because of its two pubs—The Black Bull and The Falconer. In addition, this village also presents campsite, golf course, and a War Memorial. In fact, this land is also ideal for adventure—the manning trail presented in its falls take charge of it. Many of the people who have already experienced the manning trail here would like to come back to follow the entire trail and to explore more of the river’s view as well. Slab cave, gorge, and magnificent views are also claimed as superb in this land.
