Shap
Shap is a market town set on a countryside backdrop proud of its ancient heritage. It is located in the Eden District of Cumbria very near the Lake District fells and lakes. The village of Shap is characterized by vast plains overlooking the majestic fells of the Lake District and surrounded by rolling hills. The air is fresh and the atmosphere is mostly cool and cloudy throughout the year. Shopping Spree and Indulging at Shap Marketplace The Shap town center is one of the liveliest places in England. You can find different pubs, ethnic stores and restaurants serving international cuisine. Shap is known for its sausages because there is a nearby factory producing the delectable treat. On the other hand if you want a quiet place to take your tea or afternoon coffee, then you can go to cafes and outdoor snack bars. These are best places where you can rest after an enjoyable shopping experience at Shap. Vacation Treats at Shap Village There are lots of good places and isolated virgin areas at Shap where you can enjoy the best of countryside atmosphere. If you are interested in history and a bit of archeology, then the Shap Abbey ruins would be a good place to start. This is an ancient abbey located in the plains of Shap. You can also find nature trekking at Shap quite exciting and adventurous. The haweswater valley can offer a nice view of the reservoir. You might also get lucky and be able to see the flight of the majestic English golden eagle which nests on the valley.
