Penrith
Another fascinating place, located in the Lake District of Cumbria County in the United Kingdom is Penrith. The name Penrith either stands for “chief ford” or “red hill”, which one there is an argument over. One of these is the St. Andrew church which was built in 1720 and completed in 1722. The style of church is a Grecian architectural look. The yard has be referred to as the “Giant’s Grave”, due to the ancient crosses that are in it. Going to the south of Penrith you will find Mayburgh Henge, which is more famously called “King Arthurs Round Table.” Penrith’s center has a wonderful clock tower that was built in 1861. Penrith has numerous wells in the town and around it, so each May they have well-dressing ceremonies. To the south east of Penrith you will find “Giant’s caves”, something that is also a good idea to visit while staying in Penrith. If you North of Penrith you will find Beacon Hill, used in the war of 1804 against Napoleon.
