A Railway before the Oxenholme Village
Originally, the Oxenholme is a separate place that is two miles from the place called Kendal. However, Oxenholme is now the suburb of the town. It does not just play as the simple suburb of the town, but Oxenholme is also the welcoming place for those who want to visit the famous lakes.
There is a train station in Oxenholme, which is considered to be the gateway going to the Lakes. This is the Oxenholme Railway and it started operating as early as 1846.
At first, this railway is only a part of the Carlisle and Lancaster line but it continued to develop. Now, it is longer than anyone can ever imagine.
