Milnthorpe
Cumbria of England may be better known for its beautiful lakes, rivers, mountains, and forests. But this place of United Kingdom is also a place of tourism and great interesting spots—not only natural sceneries but historical places too. If you are looking for that kind of time traveling and want to see historical roads and buildings, then you better be off to Milnthorpe, Cumbria. Milnthorpe as a Reflection of the Past Although a vast green field surrounds the place, Milnthorpe is better boasting its rich preservation of culture and history. When you are in this market town, you’ll feel like you have been taken to the past. Imagine those films set during the 1700s or 1800s and you’ll surely remember the Milnthorpe. The place offers old buildings, old roads, and old houses where you can reminisce a time where knights and ladies are not the things of the past. You’ll surely feel like you have lived in that era just seeing those old buildings in Milnthorpe. The Milnthorpe Market Milnthorpe is not named as a market town for nothing. It actually started to be called as a market town since 1334 when King Edward III permitted a regular market to be held in the town. The regular market was held here on Wednesdays, however, it later became Fridays. Also, the former market fair was replaced by a cattle fair that was being held every 12th of May. But in 1929, this Cattle Fair has ceased. But Milnthorpe still holds fun fairs during Autumn and Spring. Aside from the seem-like a museum town and the regular market, you will also love the hospitality of Milnthorpe people. With all these offerings, Milnthorpe is certainly a great place to relax and spend some quality time with friends and family.
