Lake District Tourism
In the Lake District, tourism has become an economical, recreational and even a cultural phenomenon in the merry land of England. Of course, it isn’t difficult to see why, as the setting seems like something out of a fairytale—one by Beatrix Potter, to be exact! The Lake District of England is the land of Peter Rabbit, and naturally travellers, young and old, will become enchanted by it.
Lake District tourism flourishes all year long, and with people from all over the world. The many tours available says something about both the sense of awe and adventure embodied within the traveller and the graciousness of the hosts, namely those who live here and wish to share their land of mystique, which is really no exaggeration, considering the history and the amazing and renowned geological formations, such as that vast lakes, towering peaks and the sprawling green countryside. Whether it is Hadrian’s Wall to the extreme north or the Lake District Nation Park farther south, or even the dales and farmland—the latter of which comprises much of the region—tourists will find their fill of wonder. That’s the overall effect of the Lake District; Tourism is everywhere!
Take, for example, the horse tours. No where else is exploration, education and leisure sport encapsulated in and facilitated by a single event. Such are the many engaging activities in play in the Lake District. Tourism is always alive and circulating like life’s blood throughout the area, whether it is on foot or on one of the countless lake cruises available.
It is safe to say, then, that, in the Lake District, tourism is in itself a colourful feature associated with the spirit of the land. Although it is a common pastime throughout the United Kingdom, in the Lake District, tourism is literally a part of everyday life. What would the Lake District be without it?
