Lake District Farming
Lake District farming comprises most of the areas, along with the sprawling green mountain ranges. This is beautiful country and is considered so by those in all of the United Kingdom. As a matter of fact, The Lake District is among the most breathtaking and peaceful nature land in the entire country. The Lake District National Park is evidence of this. Lake District farming thrives well here, and residents and travellers can partake in it any time.
One of the interesting things about Lake District farming, especially in the extreme north near Scotland, is that many farms over the years have been reinforced by actual brick from the still-standing Hadrian Wall, which continues in a broken line from the Irish Sea to the west all the way to the North Sea to the east. Considering that this particular site has been voted a Roman historical site, those nearby farms are just as significant. Travellers who wish to stay in these parts can take a trip through history while experiencing the outdoor tranquillity that is the charm of Lake District farming.
That assures yet another exciting feature of Lake District farming. Travellers seeking isolation in a low-key setting with wonderful views all to themselves can self-cater (rent) farm accommodation in proximity to other historical sites, holiday parks, quaint medieval villages or sleepy ports, all of which are indicative to the varying culture of England or, let alone, the Lake District.
Lake District farming also produces impressive quantities of dairy and poultry products for the region throughout the year. Sheep, too, are prevalent here and are a part of the vast green countryside, much as is the case in Ireland and Scotland to the north. Horseback riding is also possible in these parts for those who love the great outdoors.
Lake District farming is just as enchanting as the country’s history, which is one reason that the pastime is one of the Lake District’s most important and popular features.
