LUXURY Cottages

Gone are the days when vacationers were limited to staying in impersonal, expensive hotels when going on a holiday.  Today, there are much more 'homey' accommodations. Luxury cottages are a great example.

Luxury Cottages versus Hotels

No matter where your vacation destination is, it is a must to find comfortable accommodations to ensure that you will have a great time during your holiday.

For most people, vacations are once-in-a-lifetime or once-a-year indulgences that they have long saved up for.  Naturally, you would like to have the most comfortable accommodations possible as you get to explore the tourist attractions in the area.

So what are the advantages of staying in one of the many luxury cottages in the area over the traditional hotel accommodations?  Here are some of the benefits provided by luxury cottages:

  • You don't have to stick to the hotel schedule.
In the United Kingdom, there are 'self-catering' luxury cottages which are suitable accommodations for those who do not want to work around the hotel schedule.

For example, if you will stay in a hotel, the dining room will probably close at around midnight. What if you had a late night and the hotel's kitchen is closed? What if you want to just spend a quiet evening with a simple, home cooked meal?  Luxury cottages will allow you these simple luxuries since you don't have to stick to the hotel schedule.

  • Luxury cottages are often cheaper than hotel accommodations.
This is especially true if you are traveling in groups. Just imagine the hotel bill that you will incur if you are going on a holiday with three of your friends or more!

Luxury cottages that sleep two to twelve people, with several bedrooms are available year-round – you will definitely not be lacking in space.

  • There are a lot of luxury cottages to choose from.
Whether you are looking for charming seaside cottages, sophisticated luxury cottages, cottages with pools or quaint log cabins – there is a wide array of accommodation types to choose from.

Things to Consider when Looking for Luxury Cottages to Rent

When looking for luxury cottages to rent, here are some factors that you need to take into consideration:

  1. The location
If you want to explore more of East Anglia, for example, you should look for luxury cottages which are near the tourist destinations. If you are looking forward to spending some 'alone' time with yourself, a remotely located cottage may be more suitable.

  1. Pets or no pets?
If you plan to bring pets with you, check whether they are allowed in the luxury cottage that you will rent.

  1. The cost and the number of bedrooms
Naturally, you should have a set budget for the accommodations. Usually, if you book the luxury cottage early – or if you are going on holiday during off-peak dates – you may get discounted rates.

Also, check on the bedrooms. Make sure that the number of persons that the cottage 'sleeps' is all within a bedroom, and not in bunk beds or put-me-up sleeping nooks.

  1. The number/location of baths
If you are traveling with a group, make sure that the number of baths is suitable for the number of people that you have.  There may also be cottages where the bathroom is not attached to the house – which may be inconvenient in the long run.

Follow these tips and you will have a grand time staying in the luxury cottage of your choice.
