Kirkbride
You would think that the quaint village of Kirkbride would have been teeming with weddings, banquets and bouquets in the church of St Bride; but this village has a rich history of the regions traditional sports of wrestling and hound trailing! Visitors can see the influence of a Roman settlement dating back as early as the 2nd Century AD in many of the houses and the church in the village owing their stone to Hadrians wall. Kirkbride is located five miles north of Wigton.
