We are happy to accommodate caravans and tents on our beautiful land just ½ a mile from Cartmel and ¾ mile from Grange-over-Sands. Both these wonderful villages offer everything you could hope for with excellent shopping, varied dining, warm, friendly locals and charm unmatched anywhere else. The walk is easy to reach both towns with footpaths that are a delight to stroll.
Everywhere you venture in this area is a feast for the eyes. With a mild climate attributed to the gulf stream and sheltered areas, the lush foliage thrives; creating areas of outstanding beauty and a rich variety of wildlife, flora and fauna.
The quaint village of Cartmel is famous for its 12th Century Priory with its beautiful stained glass windows and ancient choir stalls. The village also houses a variety of interesting shops and traditional pubs around its main square. Twice a year, at spring and summer bank holidays, Cartmel hosts its famous and highly popular steeple chase meetings attracting visitors from across the country. This truly is a village you will adore for the beauty of the buildings and warmth of the people.
Grange-Over-Sands is a charming Edwardian resort nestled between the breath-taking vistas of England's Lake District fells and the long, sandy sweep of Morecambe Bay. It offers one of the mildest climates in the north and is easily accessible with excellent rail and road links. Up until 1887, Grange-over-Sands was inaccessible other than over the sands from Lancaster. It was however transformed from a quaint little fishing village into a fashionable and well loved resort with the advent of the Furness Railway; attracting wealthy merchants who designed beautiful homes and hotels. This set a trend that has been upheld ever since with wonderful architecture, a warm welcome for visitors and a wealth of activities to keep all entertained.
