Hensingham
What do you do when the holidays are just around the corner and the kids are starting to get a tad rowdy? Climbing the walls in fact! Combat boredom with a drive or short break in Hensingham.
Hensingham is located on the outskirts of Whitehaven and just a couple of miles from the beach at St Bees, where both the C2C cycle route and Wainwright's coast to coast walk begins. Heningsham
is ideally placed for touring the Western Lakes with Ennerdale also very close.
If the rainy season is set in for the holidays, a trip to Hensingham and the Lakes District can still be lots of fun and a great winter time escape. Be sure to pack plenty of crayons, pens, paper,
puzzles and books to keep the children busy. Stroll around the historic harbour and marina of Whitehaven.
So long as it’s not pouring with drain, a fun day digging in the sandy beaches or a hike through the National Park is still a great way to keep the little ones occupied. Until they get hungry, that is!
When the hunger pains strike; they’re easily taken care of as Hensingham has plenty of eateries, cafes and pubs where you can grab a tasty bite to eat. Or better still; buy some groceries and fresh
Fruit and Vegetables in the Lake District to make a tasty meal yourself.
If the weather is really dismal; you can always visit one of the libraries in the Lake District in an effort to combat boredom.
