Crinkle Crags

If you’re looking for a great place for a walk, you’ll find Crinkle Crags has one of best ridge-walks in the Lake District. Crinkle Crags includes an excellent selection of peaks that overlook a ridge and comes with a couple of rock steps just to make everything more interesting. One of the more difficult peaks to travel is nicknamed The Bad Step while some of the walkers have named the easier of the peaks of Crinkle Crags the Easy Step.
Although there may be others, you will note two main approaches leading to Crinkle Crags. One approach is north to south while the other one is south to north. In order to obtain the most from your trip to Crinkle Crags, you may want to take the approach from the south where you can approach any difficulties head-on while still having a view of the best scenery. Some people who choose to approach the ridge from the north find that this approach find that it lessens the impact of Crinkle Crags and don’t seem to be as majestic as Bowfell.
Though in some ways Bowfell is more impressive than Crinkle Crags, there are other ways in which Crinkle Crags’ views are more spectacular. The walk involves walking along a ridge that is situated between two valleys, so you will always be exposed to views that do not require you to remain on the summit in order to take in the pleasures of the scenery. In some spots Crinkle Crags may be too dangerous to walk unless you pay close attention to where you are putting your feet, but there are some areas of the ridge with terrain that is easy and thus making it possible to walk and enjoy the view simultaneously.
Although a walk along the ridges of Crinkle Crags can be a rewarding experience, you need to exercise caution when walking along most of the ridge. In most places the terrain is rocky with boulders strewn along the paths in some parts of the ridge. Most people walking Crinkle Crags for the first time should exercise caution and stay on the main path as they travel along the ridges of Crinkle Crags. Failing to do so could cause you to end up in Eskdale during bad weather, a move that is rather dangerous. 
Though walking along the ridges of Crinkle Crags can quite exciting, a great deal of caution is necessary to prevent accidents even during good weather. When you are traveling Crinkle Crags for the first time, stay with the main road and the easier ridges until you are more familiar with the various paths and any obstacles that you may encounter along the way. Exercising caution will provide each walker with a more pleasurable stroll along the ridges of Crinkle Crags. If you take the time to be careful where you walk and keep your attention on where you are placing your feet, you will find your mountain walk an experience you will not soon forget.
