Cotehill

Cotehill is a small hamlet located in the ward of Wetheral; it along with three other townships make up Wetheral’s population of just fewer than 5,000.  Just twelve miles from Cotehill sits the English /Scottish border; therefore, the area has long been known for a stopping ground for settlers going in and out of Scotland.  Cotehill also lies very near the popular and historical city known as Carlisle England; just 20 minutes away.  Both Carlisle and Cotehill have many interesting points of interest for holiday goers to visit.
Cotehill offers their tourists lovely gardens to visit; as well as, beautiful scenic landscapes.  Those that stop in for a night or two at one of the local Inns or Bed and Breakfast accommodations will find themselves coming back for more; most of the locals that run the country homes in the area offer clean and quiet guest accommodations with large breakfasts and welcoming smiles.  As well, you will find many restaurants and pubs for your pleasure all within cycling or walking distance from most accommodations.
The proximity to so many Lake District favorites makes the town of Cotehill an ideal destination for families and couples.  The town is just a short distance from museums, local galleries and theaters; as well as, many of the area historical landmarks.  As well, the area in and near Cotehill has excellent shopping; many local artisans work can be purchased throughout the village of Cotehill, as well.
