Bampton
Bampton is a small hamlet that sets on the edge of the Lowther Valley in Eden. It is overlooked by cliffs and Bampton still mirrors its 19th century past when it was responsible for seeing to the needs of the local villagers and farms. It still has a post office and a pub from the 17th century. Every June the village sponsors a sports day for local parents and children. There are a variety of other activities that are held throughout the year for the pleasure of locals and visitors.
Bampton has two hotels right in the village with one being a bed and breakfast guest house. Like many regions in the Lake District, the hotels and other accommodations speak out about the history of the village. Shopping is always available as are many other activities in Bampton and the surrounding villages. What Bampton doesn’t offer in entertainment you will find in other surrounding villages within the Lake District.
When you visit Brampton you will find you are looking at a piece of English history and viewing the many beautiful and picturesque sites will help you see that clearer. With the fells that overlook parts of every village including Bampton, you cannot help but make a visual of all the beauty with or without a camera. This village is just another piece of English history that can make any vacation come alive with wonder and amazement. If you’re touring the Lake District, you definitely don’t want to overlook Bampton.
