Askham
The view in the village of Askham is one of intense beauty that shows a mile of green and trees that decorate the roadway as you enter into the village of Askham. The history of the village is rich and is revealed in the inscriptions on one of the pubs. Lowther gained recognition as part of the Lowther estate in 1724 when the Earl of Lonsdale assumed responsibility for it. There is also an old church that was also founded by the Earl of Lonsdale. Though the church is bright and plain on the inside, the windows sparkle with leaded diamond-shaped windowpanes. The history that surrounds this village is more than enough to draw visitors and should you have the opportunity, you will definitely want to take the time to visit Askham. Though more historical and less bustling than some other villages in England, it is full of spectacular views and warrants the attention of all tourists in the area.
